Casting for Kids Benefit 2024 AND A Legacy of Mentoring Kids Hunts

Mark Osiecki is joining us to talk with us about the 6th Annual Casting 4 Kids Event which will be held on the Madison Chain of Lakes on Saturday May 18, 2024.  Mark is a former NHL Hockey player and has coached hockey for nearly 30 years, at various levels including AHL, USHL, and Collegiate hockey.  Mark is also the founder of this amazing Casting 4 Kids Event.  The catch – photo- release only tournament is followed by a dinner and auction.  Tournament headquarters are at The Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wisconsin.   This yearly event has raised and donated over $620,000 so far to the American Family Children’s Hospital and UW Carbone Cancer Center.

Our second guest is Julie Bergholz.     Julie and her husband Tom have mentored over 2000 children in outdoor and hunting programs over the last 20 years.   And, we are sad to say,  this year’s mentored hunt was the last one and was held without Tom.  Tom passed away a few weeks prior to the event.  Julie is joining us to talk about Tom’s legacy:   his kids, being out of doors, hunting, and mentoring kids who wanted to learn more about hunting.
